For anyone interested in snare drum solos, wrote an excellent book: Modern Rudimental Swing Solos. It is a great resource for studying rudimental drumming. After learning different rudiments, or groups of rudiments, you can play solos that use them in a musical context.
Rolling in Rhythm helps reinforce double-stroke rolls.
The Flam Stomp helps reinforce flams.
Roughing the Single Drag helps reinforce drags.
In Rhythmania, for example, rudiments from several sections appear together. These solos can be played on a snare drum or practice pad, or orchestrated around the drum set for a more melodic effect. Pay close attention to the accents in these solos. You can also add ostinato patterns with the feet if you want to make the work more advanced.
