This is my drum video course called 12 Steps of Coordination. To demonstrate my ideas for developing drum set coordination, I used several rhythmic studies from Kevin Tuck’s popular book Drum Book 1. These studies are reworked and played in twelve different ways. The publicly available episodes are collected on this page. In them, I play the material according to the principle described in the twelfth step of the course. The notation for these episodes is also attached to public posts on Patreon. Other parts of the course are available through my Patreon.
Course access options
1. Free episodes are available on my social pages and on Patreon. If you already have some basic experience on drums or another musical instrument, these fragments may be enough to help you develop your own ideas from the material that is not published openly. They can also inspire you to create your own variations for similar practice.
2. Paid subscribers get access to more material. By subscribing to any Patreon tier, you can watch additional course episodes and other exclusive materials. It is a good way to see whether a particular course, and my work in general, is interesting to you. I also offer other bonuses at different subscription levels.
3. Access to all training materials. The rest of the course episodes can be watched on my Patreon page, either by buying access to individual materials or by subscribing to the highest tier.
Important
No course can be absolutely comprehensive. That is impossible. 12 Steps of Coordination is a study of several ideas for developing limb independence. For technique, I recommend starting with these videos, for example. This course also helps develop a more creative approach to practice. It shows that you do not have to collect books and play them from cover to cover. That is often not a sign of high-quality learning. It can be much more useful to work deeply, broadly, and musically with two or three sources.
